We reveal the best British clothing brands for kids of all ages – warning, cute stuff ahead!
I have to admit, I have a bit of a soft spot for anything British. Having been born and raised outside London until I was 8, I still consider myself a Brit at heart. I enjoy a good cup of English tea, traditional baked beans on toast, and know the words to every song in the Sound of Music.
So when I discovered that some of my favorite British clothing brands were now available to purchase in the US, I was dead chuffed (translation: delighted). So to share my joy, I’ve rounded up my top 5 favorite British clothing brands for babies and kids. Check them out – they are ace (translation: cool)!

Boden brought their popular kid’s clothing to America in 2002 and has been steadily growing ever since, launching Baby Boden in 2007 and their teen range, Johnnie b, in 2010. Their signature designs of bold patterns mixed with stripes and bright colors are built to last.
I can’t say enough about their quality. I have passed down many Mini Boden pieces to my younger kids, and they still look like new. My favorites are their appliquéd tees and dresses that have just the right amount of whimsy – traditional, yet on-trend. Definitely my cup of tea.

Next is Britain’s #1 online clothing retailer – and for good reason, their playful and trendy fashions for babies to teens are well-made, yet reasonably priced. I adore their take on nostalgic prints and patterns, which they incorporate seamlessly into their clothing, accessories and even shoes. A 3-pack of high quality, 100% cotton tees for $20 – smashing!

Joules is best known for their fun and playful “wellies”, but they have carried this spirit over to their kid’s line, Little Joule and Baby Joule, which outfits newborns to 12 years. Their clothes are playful, colorful and incorporate cool graphics and appliques. And the quality is unbeatable – their fabrics are thick and stretchy, so you won’t get creases and crinkled necklines, and they make the perfect hand-me-downs.
Their women’s line is equally wonderful, so you might have to mosey on over to that section of their website while you’re there!

Jigsaw’s selection of kid’s clothing may not be huge, but they make-up for it by providing a carefully curated collection of fun and fresh pieces for girls 4-13. Their line offers exquisite tailoring with a major touch of class. If you have a girl that loves ruffles and feminine details, this is definitely a brand to check out. Best news of all – they have free shipping on orders over $100 to the US.

How does the sizing run on Next? According to measurements my son would be in 9-12 month clothing. But he’s usually in 12-18 clothing in the US. Do you feel their clothing runs large?
Hi Kelsey – on average we’d say that Next sizes do run large so we would go with the measurements.
