The Best Baby & Toddler Sunglasses for Your Burgeoning Hipster
Tried and tested — read on for our top picks for the best baby and toddler sunglasses
We have to admit, we’re guilty of buying those super cute (and super cheap) plastic sunglasses from our local big box store – what kid can resist Hello Kitty or Spiderman plastered all over their frames? But truth is, these sunglasses don’t check all the boxes when it comes to protecting our kiddo’s still‐developing eyes. We’ve since thrown those plastics away, and replaced them with a few pairs that received our What Moms Love seal of approval.
All of our picks provide 99–100% UVA/UVB protection (often marked as “UV400”), large lenses to shield the delicate skin around their eyes, and are made to stand‐up to a little one’s curiosity (think bendable frames, stay‐put straps and impact‐resistant lenses). They are packed with lots of function, plus adorable designs that your baby or toddler can safely rock all summer long.

When we shop for a new pair of sunglasses, we try on countless pairs to find the ones that fit just right. Purchasing sunnies for your child is no different – they all fit differently, and some will fit your child’s face better than others. We suggest buying a few pairs, doing a try‐on session, and then keeping only the ones that stay securely on your tike’s head. Don’t be tempted to keep them just because they look cute! If they’re slipping down their nose, they will be uncomfortable and ultimately won’t be worn. As hard as it may be, put fit first, then fashion.
We’re big fans of Babiators. Not only will they instantly turn your tike into a burgeoning hipster, they have UV400 lenses for 100% UVA/UVB protection. For an additional $15 you can upgrade to the polarized version that have anti‐glare lenses. Our favorite feature is the flexible rubber frames and shatter‐resistant lenses that won’t break when your child inevitably pulls them off and engages in an intense wrestling match. On top of all this, Babiators offer great value at just $20, and if you lose or break them in the first year, they’ll replace them for free!
Available in a variety of colors; sizes Junior (0–3) and Classic (3–7)
Ro‐sham‐bo baby shades
Ro‐sham‐bo has designed a heavenly pair of glasses for 0–2 year olds. They have even thought of the little details, like molding their logos into the design to avoid unnecessary paint and small parts.

Retro BanZ Wrap Around Sunglasses
We can’t resist the retro‐inspired styling of these oversized glasses which offers great coverage for your little one’s face. They are one of the most fashionable styles we found that offers a wrap‐around strap for a secure fit. The flexible strap is made from neoprene, a fast‐drying, breathable and comfortable material that won’t irritate your baby’s delicate skin. It also features an adjustable Velcro closure so they can grow with your child and make your investment last.
