We have to admit, we’re guilty of buying those super cute (and super cheap) plastic sunglasses from our local big box store – what kid can resist Hello Kitty or Spiderman plastered all over their frames? But truth is, these sunglasses don’t check all the boxes when it comes to protecting our kiddo’s still-developing eyes. When we shop for a new pair of sunglasses, we try on countless pairs to find the ones that fit just right. Purchasing sunnies for your child is no different – they all fit differently, and some will fit your child’s face better than others. We suggest buying a few pairs, doing a try-on session, and then keeping only the ones that stay securely on your tike’s head. Don’t be tempted to keep them just because they look cute! If they’re slipping down their nose, they will be uncomfortable and ultimately won’t be worn. As hard as it may be, put fit first, then fashion.
